Shift workers with shift work disorder have worse lower urinary tract symptoms
Urology Mar 01, 2019
Sigalos JT, et al. - A total of 2571 participants were estimated by investigators to assess the connection between shift work or shift work disorder (SWD) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) between July 2014 and June 2017. After completing all questionnaires, they noticed 24.1% of candidates working non-standard shifts in the past month. Among 196 cases, a high risk of SWD was observed by a questionnaire. They did not find an association of non-standard shift work overall with worse LUTS, when controlling for age, medications, surgical intervention for benign prostatic hyperplasia, comorbidities, and testosterone (T) levels.
