Sesquiterpenes from fruits of Torilis japonica with inhibitory activity on melanin synthesis in B16 cells

Song DH, et al. - This research examined the effect of Sesquiterpenes from fruits of Torilis japonica on the melanin synthesis in B16 cells. The findings disclosed that among the isolated compounds, compounds 4–6 and 11–13 inhibited the α-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH)-activated melanin production in B16 melanoma cells, with IC50 values from 72.9 to 191.0 μM.
