Poveda I, et al. - Researchers conducted a multicenter, prospective clinical and analytical case-control study to gauge the relationship between hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and serum zinc levels. They enrolled consecutive patients with moderate or severe HS (Hurley II or III exclusively). Findings suggested a greater prevalence of low serum zinc levels in HS than in a healthy population, an indicator that could also be correlated with disease severity.
