Serum uromodulin and decline of kidney function in older participants of the population-based KORA F4/FF4 study

Clinical Kidney Journal May 06, 2020

Then C, Then HL, Lechner A, et al. - Among 1,075 participants of the population-based Cooperative Health Research in the Region of Augsburg (KORA) F4 study, researchers examined the link of serum uromodulin (sUmod) with the estimated glomerular filtration rate and albuminuria, employing logistic and linear regression models as well as receiver operating characteristics analyses. The participants (aged 62–81 years) were assessed at baseline and prospectively following a mean follow-up span of 6.5 years (n = 605). Findings revealed an inverse link of higher sUmod with progression to advanced kidney disease, as well as that it did not offer additional predictive value for chronic kidney disease development among elderly participants of the population-based KORA study.
