Serum homocysteine, folate, and vitamin B12 levels in patients with vitiligo and their potential roles as disease activity biomarkers: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Aug 31, 2018
Tsai TY, et al. - Experts sought to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies evaluating the serum homocysteine, folate, and vitamin B12 levels in vitiligo patients. Higher serum homocysteine levels and lower vitamin B12 levels were seen in the patients with vitiligo vs individuals without vitiligo. Findings did not suggest a significant difference in serum folate levels between the two groups (SMD –0.240; 95% CI –0.592–0.111; I2: 85.5%).
