Serum concentrations of Krebs von den Lungen-6, surfactant protein D, and matrix metalloproteinase-2 as diagnostic biomarkers in patients with asbestosis and silicosis: A caseâcontrol study
BMC Pulmonary Medicine Nov 23, 2017
Xue C, et al. - The potential diagnostic biomarkers for asbestosis and silicosis were assessed in this study. Findings demonstrated that for the adjuvant diagnosis of asbestosis and silicosis, the available biomarkers included Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6), surfactant protein D (SP-D), and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2). Furthermore, it was noted that improved diagnostic sensitivity may be achieved with the combination of all three biomarkers.
