Arthritis Care & Research Dec 12, 2019
Navarro-Millán I, Yang S, Chen L, et al. - Claims data from US private and public health plans from 2006–2010 were assessed in order to ascertain the proportion of primary lipid screening among individuals with RA (n = 12,182) and contrasted it with those among individuals with DM (n = 62,834) and cases with neither RA nor DM (n = 167,811) and to evaluate whether primary lipid screening varied according to the healthcare provider (rheumatologist vs non-rheumatologist). Amongst people with RA, primary lipid screening was suboptimal. It was also lower for individuals with DM and minimally distinctive from the general population. Moreover, from both a rheumatologist and a non-rheumatologist (eg, primary care physician), the screening was higher for RA individuals who received care.
