Sclerotherapy for reticular veins in the lower limbs: A triple-blind randomized clinical trial
JAMA Dermatology Nov 05, 2017
Bertanha M, et al. - A comparative assessment was carried out of the efficacy and safety of 2 sclerosants used to treat reticular veins: 0.2% polidocanol diluted in 70% hypertonic glucose (HG) (group 1) vs 75% HG alone (group 2). The findings revealed the superiority of sclerotherapy with 0.2% polidocanol diluted in 70% HG than the 75% HG alone in sclerosing reticular veins. The yielded data did not disclose any statistical variation for complications. Both groups reported the occurrence of pigmentation, with no statistical change between them. Neither group presented with any serious adverse events.
