Piekoszewska-Ziętek P, et al. - Authors evaluated the correlation of chosen salivary proteins and peptides levels with the occurrence of caries in children. In children the, results of studies regarding the connection between salivary peptides and proteins and caries development are promising. The majority of studies included are case-control and cross-sectional. Primary dentition (13 papers), as well as mixed (7) and permanent dentition (5) were involved in the research. Visual inspection, dmft/s and DMFT/S indexed; quantity of Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus spp.bacteria; caries risk assessment were included in the caries assessment.
