Haber P, et al. - Currently, 4 recombinant hepatitis B (HepB) vaccines are in use in the United States. In this current investigation, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a national spontaneous reporting system, was searched for reports of adverse events (AEs) following HepB vaccines. No new or unexpected safety concerns were reported for the reviewed current U.S.-licensed HepB vaccines administered alone or in combination with other vaccines. The identified vaccination errors called for training and education of providers on HepB vaccine indications and recommendations.
