Safety and complications of absorbable threads made of poly-L-lactic acid and poly lactide/glycolide: Experience with 148 consecutive patients
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Apr 07, 2018
Guduk SS, et al. - Authors sought to describe the complications of thread lifting using a totally absorbable suture composed of poly-L-lactic acid affixed with poly lactide/glycolide cones. Results suggested relative safety of this procedure using totally absorbable suture made of absorbable poly-L-lactic acid and poly lactide/glycolide without major complications. Complications regarded as minimal or moderate without permanent sequela were seen in 27% of the patients with skin dimpling and irregularity being the most common complication followed by ecchymosis, suture extrusion, and pain.
