Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Sep 19, 2017
van der Leest RJT, et al. - An inquiry was set up of the risks of different skin tumor combinations after a first melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and basal cell carcinoma (BCC). The findings revealed high cumulative risks of mainly KC. It also illustrated substantially increased relative and absolute risks of all tumor combinations. These estimates affirmed a common carcinogenesis and could serve as a base for follow-up guidelines and patient education focusing on an early detection of the subsequent cancers.
