Risk of stroke after nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy
American Journal of Ophthalmology Apr 03, 2019
Park SJ, et al. - In this population-based, retrospective cohort study, investigators estimated 400,952 candidates to study the role of nonarteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) in the increased risk of subsequent stroke. They noticed the development of NAION in 1125 subjects whereas 16,998 individuals suffered from the stroke. They observed no relationship between NAION and an increased risk of subsequent stroke in Model 1 (incident NAION). Consistency in this association was reported after adjusting for demographics and/or confounding factors.
