Risk of stillbirth in low-risk singleton term pregnancies following fertility treatment: A national cohort study
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Oct 25, 2018
Bay B, et al. - In low-risk IVF pregnancies, researchers performed a register-based national cohort study to assess the risk of stillbirth. The cohort was comprised of 425,732 singleton pregnancies, including 10,235 conceived with IVF/ICSI, 4,521 conceived with IUI, and 410,976 spontaneously conceived. As per findings, low-risk term pregnancies following IVF/ICSI had a systematically increased risk of stillbirth. It is uncertain whether the risk was related to the treatment or underlying subfertility. Results thereby indicate a necessity for obstetrical surveillance for these pregnancies when reaching term.
