Risk factors for low back pain and sciatica: An umbrella review
The Spine Journal Jun 06, 2018
Parreira P, et al. - Authors provided an overview of risk factors for low back pain (LBP) and/or sciatica by completing an umbrella review of the evidence from existing systematic reviews. They conducted a systematic literature search in MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed PsychINFO, and CINAHL databases. The risk for a future episode of LBP or sciatica was seen to increase with poor general health (e.g. smoking), physical (e.g vibration) and psychological stress (e.g depression) and characteristics of the person (e.g older age).
