Risk factors for admission after shoulder arthroscopy
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Dec 19, 2018
Christian RA, et al. - Experts sought to assess the incidence and risk factors for admission after shoulder arthroscopy to determine which patients may be susceptible to unplanned admission after surgery. They reviewed all consecutive shoulder arthroscopy procedures performed during a 10-year period. The risk factors for admission after shoulder arthroscopy were chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, obstructive sleep apnea, diabetes, increasing age, increasing body mas index, and increasing operative. The risk of admission was seen to decrease with the absence of general anesthesia.
