Return to dance and predictors of outcome after hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement syndrome
Arthroscopy Apr 09, 2019
Ukwuani GC, et al. - In this study involving 64 consecutive dancers, researchers examined the rate of dance return and factors affecting this primary outcome for the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement syndrome after hip arthroscopy. Investigators found that 97% of dancers returned to dance at an average of 6.9 months after hip arthroscopy, with most dancers dancing at a level higher than their preoperative status. The only significant factor influencing return-to-dance outcomes was dance experience level, with competitive dancers showing a faster return to dance.
