Retinoids, anxiety and peripartum depressive symptoms among Chinese women: A prospective cohort study
BMC Psychiatry Aug 19, 2017
Zeng Y, et al. – In this prospective cohort study, the researchers intended to examine whether serum retinol–binding protein (RBP) levels can be a key predictor of peripartum depression (PPD). They suggested that a high prevalence of anxiety and depressive symptoms tended to persist in Chinese women during the peripartum period. This investigation, which discovered the potential contribution of RBP to the occurrence of PPD, requires that large sample studies be conducted in future with a longer–term follow–up period, in order to confirm its outcomes.
