Retinal layer segmentation after silicone oil or gas tamponade for macula-on retinal detachment using optical coherence tomography
Retina Feb 03, 2018
Lee SH, et al. - The aim of this study was to assess and compare the effect of silicone oil and gas on the thickness of all retinal layers in eyes presenting with macula-on retinal detachment (RD). A prominent impact of the silicone oil tamponade was observed on the reduction of retinal thickness. The strongest interconnection with worse visual acuity outcome was illustrated by the reduction of ganglion cell layer, outer plexiform layer, and outer nuclear layer thicknesses.
