Groen-Hakan F, et al. - In this investigation, researchers studied to estimate the relationship of erythrocyte sedimentation rates (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) values to different uveitis entities. They calculated the levels of ESR and CRP within 2 weeks and 1 week after the onset of uveitis, respectively. They observed the majority of cases with uveitis had normal range of ESR and/or CRP values. Some candidates with diseases like sarcoidosis-associated uveitis and ocular toxoplasmosis were found with elevated ESR and/or CRP values indicating the systemic involvement.
