Relationship between each IPSS item score and erectile dysfunction in the Korean Internet Sexuality Survey (KISS): Do men with weak streams have low sexual function?
World Journal of Urology Feb 27, 2020
Choi WS, et al. - This study was carried out to ascertain which lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) among seven items on the International Prostate Symptom Scores (IPSS) were related to erectile dysfunction (ED) in the general population. Researchers conducted the Korean Internet Sexuality Survey between 2006 and 2016. The study included sexually active men aged between 20 and 69. A total of 1,464 men were included in this study(mean age was 39.2 ± 11.4) years. They conducted logistic regression analyses to ascertain the factors related to ‘any degree of ED’ (IIEF-5 < 22) or ‘more than mild ED’ (IIEF-5 < 17). It was indicated that every LUTS listed in the IPSS items was negatively associated with erectile function. The results displayed that IPSS 5 (weak stream) was the most related to ‘more than mild ED’ among the seven IPSS items.
