Relationship between asthma status and antibody response pattern to 23-valent pneumococcal vaccination
Journal of Asthma Feb 28, 2019
Sheen YH, et al. - A sum of 23 serotype-specific pneumococcal antibody titers measured at baseline and 4–6 weeks post-vaccination were analyzed to assess association between asthma status and antibody response pattern to 23-valent pneumococcal vaccination (PPSV-23). Researchers noticed that 18 candidates had asthma. Individuals with asthma did not mount a vital response to serotypes 7F, 22F, and 23F. They measured a lower overall vaccine response by fold change over baseline in cases with asthma as compared to controls.
