Regular exercise and the trajectory of health-related quality of life among Taiwanese adults: A cohort study analysis 2006–2014
BMC Public Health Nov 02, 2019
Chang HC, et al. - Utilizing data from the “Landseed Integrated Outreaching Neighborhood Screening” study, researchers analyzed how the trajectories of physical and mental dimensions of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) for community-dwelling Taiwanese adults during 2006–2014 were influenced by different degree of regular exercise. Using linear mixed-effects modeling approach, they assessed the growth curve models of HRQOL by linear & quadratic time effects, regular exercise (5-level moderate-intensity physical activity), and major influential factors of HRQOL. Among participants, findings revealed a positive dose-response link between regular exercise and HRQOL or its domains. Therefore, experts recommended the inclusion of a regular exercise habit (better ≧ 150 min per week) into health promotion strategies and plans.
