Reduced renal function in patients with Myotonic Dystrophy type 1 and the association to CTG expansion and other potential risk factors for chronic kidney disease

Aldenbratt A, et al. – Experts explored renal function and the association to numbers of CTG repeat expansion in patients with dystrophy type 1 (DM1). As per findings, patients with DM1 appeared to had a slight decrease in renal function. However, no association between renal function and the number of CTG repeats, a marker of disease severity was found.
