Journal of the American Geriatrics Society Sep 15, 2017
Rajan KB, et al. - This study assessed the difference in the link between apolipoprotein (APO)E allele and overall and cardiovascular mortality between African Americans (AAs) and European Americans (EAs). Findings revealed that the risk of overall and cardiovascular mortality was amplified in the presence of the APOE ε4 allele whereas the APOE ε2 allele decreased the risk of overall and cardiovascular mortality. The link between these alleles and mortality was not found to differ racially.
