Race- and sex-related differences in nephrolithiasis risk among blacks and whites in the southern community cohort study
Urology May 17, 2018
Hsi RS, et al. - Researchers probed the race-sex associations with risk among whites and blacks in the southeastern United States. Findings demonstrated a difference between the relationship of incident kidney stones with sex between whites and blacks. The highest risk was seen in the white males, while between black men and women no difference in risk was observed. Authors noted an association of male sex with risk among whites, but not among blacks. Formal tests of interaction by race and sex were statistically significant for all models (p=0.01 for fully adjusted model).
