Quantifying metamorphopsia with M-CHARTS in patients with idiopathic macular hole
Clinical Ophthalmology Oct 05, 2017
Wada I, et al. - As a part of this research, the degree of metamorphopsia was investigated, using M-CHARTS in patients with idiopathic macular hole before and after pars plana vitrectomy and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling. The patient satisfaction after surgery could not be estimated by best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) alone. This was attributed to the absence of a connection between the M-scores with BCVA in the postoperative analysis. The Horizontal metamorphopsia (MH) and vertical metamorphopsia (MV) score assessment could display as an independent therapeutic outcome, alongside BCVA.
