Prophylactic peripheral laser and fluorescein angiography after bevacizumab for retinopathy of prematurity

Retina Mar 29, 2018

Garcia Gonzalez JM, et al. - In eyes with classic retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) [(CROP)] vs aggressive posterior ROP (APROP), reactivation rate after bevacizumab treatment was assessed. Peripheral fluorescein angiography findings in these eyes were also described. Following bevacizumab treatment, a higher likelihood of recurrence and larger area of persistent nonperfusion was noted in eyes with APROP vs in eyes with CROP. A low rate of unfavorable structural outcome was reported for ROP treatment with bevacizumab followed by prophylactic laser.
