Prognostic value of inflammation-based prognostic scores on outcome in patients undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis
BMC Nephrology Nov 01, 2018
Cai L, et al. - In continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patients enrolled from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2014 and followed until December 31, 2016, researchers assessed the prognostic value of three inflammation-based composite scores, including Glasgow prognostic score (GPS), prognostic nutritional index (PNI), and prognostic index (PI), for mortality. Using Kaplan–Meier method and Cox proportional hazards models, they assessed the links between these scores and all-cause or cardiovascular mortality. Findings revealed an independent association of all elevated GPS, PNI, and PI scores with all-cause and cardiovascular diseases (CVD) mortality. In CAPD patients, better predictive value of the GPS score vs PNI and PI scores was evident.
