Wielders LHP, et al. - The topic of exploration herein was the prevention of macular edema after cataract surgery. In order to prevent and treat PCME topical NSAIDs solely or in combination with topical corticosteroids, could be utilized. Additional studies were warranted for comparing the efficacy of various NSAIDs, and to assess the cost-effectiveness and long-term benefit of anti-inflammatory treatments on visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and quality of life.
