Journal of Psychiatric Research Jun 01, 2021
Winkler P, Mohrova Z, Mlada K, et al. - Researchers aimed at determining the prevalence of mental disorders during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in comparison with both, baseline and the first wave of the pandemic. In addition, they investigated disproportionally affected non-clinical subgroups. The prevalence of current mental disorders was compared in three cross-sectional surveys. Screening of Czechs was done at the baseline and during the 1st and the 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic. A sharp decline in mental health was observed during the first COVID-19 related lockdown and there was no improvement during the second lockdown. Uneven distribution of mental disorders was observed across non-clinical population sub-groups. High rates of mental disorders were observed in economically worse-off subgroups.
