Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Aug 31, 2018
Wertenteil S, et al. - Among adults in the United States, authors evaluated the standardized overall and gender-, age-, and race-specific prevalence estimates for pemphigoid. Findings suggested a rare presence of pemphigoid in the United States. The majority of cases were comprised by the patients aged 60 years. In women, the adjusted prevalence in women was 12.7 per 100,000, slightly more than that of men. Findings suggested the similarity of adjusted prevalences for African Americans and Caucasians.
