Bone Oct 04, 2017

Degboe Y, et al. - This study investigated risk factors related to fragility fractures (FF) in systemic mastocytosis (SM) and, assessed the ability of bone marrow tryptase (BMT) level to detect patients with FF, and to describe bone involvement in SM. The identified markers associated with FF in SM were: low femoral T-score, BMT level, and older age at diagnosis. Furthermore, it was observed that BMT may be a crucial biomarker to predict FF in SM patients.
