International Journal of General Medicine May 28, 2021
Xiang J, Han L, Fan Y, et al. - The present study was conducted to explore the prevalence and genotype distribution of human papillomavirus among attendees at a sexually transmitted diseases clinic in Urban Tianjin, China. Researchers ascertained the human papillomavirus (HPV) subtypes in 2,801 patients 17– 89 years old at the sexually transmitted diseases (STD) clinic of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital between January 2017 and September 2019, using PCR-reverse dot-blot hybridization. Compared with the general population, the HPV prevalence was higher among the STD clinic outpatients. Therefore, there is a need for a large-scale survey of high-risk populations. According to the findings, it is anticipated that HPV vaccines, regular education, and physical examinations may have a significant impact on the prevention of HPV-related diseases in high-risk groups.
