Pregnancy outcomes in French hemodialysis patients
American Journal of Nephrology Apr 01, 2018
Normand G, et al. - Researchers assessed pregnancy outcomes in French hemodialysis (HD) patients included in this descriptive, retrospective, multi-centric study. The primary outcome was a living infant discharged from hospital, while secondary outcomes included gestational age and birth weight. In this one of the largest series of pregnancies in HD patients, it was shown that these pregnancies remained at high risk despite recent progresses. The primary outcome was met for 78% of newborns with a mean gestational age of 33.2 ± 3.9 weeks and a mean birth weight of 1,719 ± 730 g. This finding strengthens the need for an early nephrologist-obstetrician skilled team co-management.
