Predictors of 1-year mortality after transcatheter aortic valve implantation in patients with and without advanced chronic kidney disease
The American Journal of Cardiology Sep 09, 2017
Levi A, et al. - This study investigated predictors of 1-year mortality in post-Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) patients stratified by the presence or absence of advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) (defined as eGFR ≤ 30 ml/min/1.73m2 or permanent renal replacement therapy). Findings demonstrated an incremental impact of the coexistence of advanced CKD and either reduced Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF) or poor functional class (FC) on the risk of death post- TAVI. In contrast, in patients without advanced CKD, bleeding had a greater effect on risk of death.
