Allotey J, et al. - Through a prospective cohort study, using information collected during the antenatal booking visit, the contributors set out to validate a prognostic antiEpileptic drug Monitoring in PREgnancy (EMPiRE) model, to prognosticate in women with epilepsy on antiepileptic drugs seizure, the hazard at any time during pregnancy and until 6 weeks postpartum. Excellent performance for the risk of seizures prediction in pregnant women with epilepsy who were prescribed antiepileptic drugs via the EMPiRE model was noticed and hence, could help to optimize care in women with epilepsy, in the near future was concluded.
