Positively increased visceral adiposity index in hyperuricemia free of metabolic syndrome

Gu D, et al. - A cross-sectional research coming from a health check-up program was conducted to ascertain the relationship of visceral adiposity index (VAI) and hyperuricemia free of metabolic syndrome and estimate the power of VAI as predictor for hyperuricemia. For this investigation, the researchers used a multivariate logistic analysis to analyze the correlation between the quartiles and hyperuricemia and to evaluate the accuracy of predictions for hyperuricemia they used a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. The consequences of this study demonstrated that VAI was associated with hyperuricemia among people free of metabolic syndrome, and also a powerful indicator.
