Zhao D, et al. - Researchers analyzed to study the positive and negative characteristics which correspond to different clinical and radiographic consequences following total ankle arthroplasty in this study. They observed positive factors like less pain or stiffness and less radiographic loosening in older subjects and updated instrumentation limited malalignment. They also noted some negative consequences in cases who received HINTEGRA and Salto Talaris. They observed more implant instability and subsequent severe particulate wear in case if the polyethylene (PE) insert was significantly narrower than the metal components.
