Journal of Arthroplasty Aug 04, 2018
Pritchett JW - In patients with advanced arthritis from severe acetabular insufficiency due to dysplasia, the author evaluated the impact of polyethylene resurfacing arthroplasties. At mid-term follow-up, excellent function and implant survivorship with a low rate of complications were seen in hip resurfacing using a 2-piece polyethylene acetabular component for advanced dysplasia. Findings suggested an improvement in Harris Hip Scores from a preoperative mean of 55 to 97 and that of UCLA activity scores from 5 to 8 at 2 years postoperative.
