Plasma n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid levels and survival in renal transplantation
Journal of Renal Nutrition May 11, 2018
Skaare H, et al. - Researchers determined links between plasma levels of linoleic acid (LA) and arachidonic acid (AA) at baseline, measured by gas chromatography, and patient and graft survival, as well as inflammation and cardiovascular risk markers in this single-center cohort study including Norwegian renal transplant recipients. Findings demonstrated no links between plasma levels of LA or AA and patient or graft survival. An inverse association was observed between plasma levels of LA and proglycemic indices, indicating a possible beneficial impact of LA consumption for prevention of posttransplantation diabetes mellitus.
