Prindaville B, et al. - This trial encompassed the characterization of the risk factors for Pityrosporum folliculitis, its clinical presentation, and response to treatment. In contrast to the classic acne vulgaris, Pityrosporum folliculitis appeared to be more common after antibiotic use. Its characteristics were fine monomorphic, pruritic papules and pustules along the hairline and on the upper back. It appeared to improve with topical or oral azole antifungal therapy.
