Physical activity is not related to risk of early menopause in a large prospective study
Human Reproduction Sep 22, 2018
Zhao M, et al. – In this prospective cohort study, researchers evaluated whether physical activity is associated with incident early menopause in 107,275 women who were premenopausal at baseline from 1989 to 2011. They used Cox proportional hazards model to analyze the association between physical activity and incidence of natural menopause before 45 years of age while controlling for potential confounding factors (age, smoking status, etc). Findings did not provide any evidence to support a significant association between physical activity and early menopause.
