Perioperative changes in knowledge and attitude towards oral health by oral health education
Oral Diseases Feb 05, 2019
Nakata H, et al. - A total of 507 cases were estimated to assess the relationship between knowledge and attitude towards oral health (KAOH) and oral/periodontal status (OPS) in subjects receiving surgery and also to evaluate the perioperative changes in KAOH by oral health education. They observed a significantly worse preoperative OPS in the negative as compared to the positive KAOH group. They also found an increment from 68.6% to 92.2% in positive answers for KAOH during the perioperative period. Hence, they suggested perioperative oral health management to improve the oral health knowledge and attitudes.
