Performance of resin composite restorations in the primary dentition: A retrospective university-based study

Ribeiro JF, et al. - In this retrospective university-based study, experts evaluated the survival and risk factors related to failures of resin composite restorations performed in primary teeth. Findings suggested an association of individual and dental variables such as gender, arch type and number of restored surfaces with failure of composite restorations performed in children under daily life clinical environment. A greater risk of failure was seen in restorations involving two or more surfaces than restorations placed in cavities involving only one surface. Less risk of failure was seen in girls in their restorations
