Perampanel in routine clinical use in idiopathic generalized epilepsy: The 12-month GENERAL study
Epilepsia Aug 03, 2018
Villanueva V, et al. - In this multicenter, retrospective, 1-year observational study, researchers obtained data from patient records at 21 specialist epilepsy units in Spain to investigate the efficacy and tolerability of perampanel in routine clinical care across different seizure types of patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE). Data reported that this is the first real-world evidence with perampanel across different seizure types in IGE. It was observed that perampanel improved seizure outcomes for generalized tonic-clonic seizures, myoclonic seizures, and absence seizures, with few discontinuing treatment because of adverse events, like irritability, somnolence, and dizziness.
