Patient satisfaction with nonopioid pain management following arthroscopic partial meniscectomy and/or chondroplasty

Daniels SD, et al. - Via this prospective cohort study of 163 patients undergoing knee arthroscopy, for a partial meniscectomy and/or chondroplasty, researchers evaluate nonopioid pain medication for efficacy related to patient satisfaction with postoperative pain. In addition, they sought for potential risk factors for decreased patient satisfaction with nonopioid pain medications. The findings support revealed the achievement of satisfactory pain control in 82% of patients with nonopioid pain management. Adequate satisfaction with pain control was less likely among patients with a history of opioid use than those who had no prior history of opioid use
