Partial inferior turbinectomy in rhinoseptoplasty has no effect in quality-of-life outcomes: A randomized clinical trial
The Laryngoscope Aug 21, 2017
de Moura BH, et al. – This trial was performed to analyze the impact of endoscopic partial inferior turbinectomy (EPIT) associated with primary rhinoseptoplasty in terms of quality–of–life outcomes (QOL), complications, and surgical duration. Results displayed no improvement in short–term general and specific QOL outcomes, in turbinate reduction through EPIT during primary rhinoseptoplasty. Moreover, the use of EPIT increases surgical time considerably without improving QOL scores. No difference in the postoperative incidence of complications was reported. These findings indicated that EPIT was a safe technique.
