Overexpression of HDAC9 is associated with poor prognosis and tumor progression of breast cancer in Chinese females
OncoTargets and Therapy Apr 24, 2018
Huang Y, et al. - Researchers determined the prognostic value and the biologic function of HDAC9 (identified as an oncogene in human cancers) in breast cancer patients, using Kaplan–Meier survival analysis and Cox regression assay. Overexpression of HDAC9 was detected, which showed correlated with lymph node metastasis and TNM stage. Poor overall survival was observed in patients with high HDAC9 vs those with low levels of HDAC9. Elevated HDAC9 was found to be an independent prognostic factor for the patients. Overall, in breast cancer, overexpression of HDAC9 may serve as a prognostic biomarker and its possible involvement in the tumor progression was also suggested.
