Outcomes of intradetrusor onabotulinum toxin A injection in patients with Parkinson's disease
Neurourology and Urodynamics May 20, 2018
Vurture G, et al. - Authors evaluated the safety and effectiveness of intradetrusor onabotulinum toxin A injections for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Findings suggested that in PD patients with OAB symptoms and a low post-void residual (PVR) before the injection, intradetrusor injections of onabotulinum toxin A (BoNT-A) 100 U was a safe and effective option. Both treatment failure and postoperative urinary retention requiring clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) were strongly predicted by higher preoperative PVR.
